NetShade HelpNetShade website |
The NetShade proxy servers are available to registered NetShade users who have an active proxy subscription. Registered users can always use the NetShade app with public or user proxies, but subscriptions to the NetShade proxy service expire and must be renewed.
The NetShade proxies are operated by Rayner Software, and are secure, very-limited-access machines. The servers maintain access logs for a limited period of time (generally one to two weeks) for purposes of debugging and abuse detection. Log information is never disclosed to any third party unless subpoenaed by a court of law.
NetShade servers generally provide the fastest and most reliable connections among available proxies.
The public proxies come from a user-sourced list of proxy servers. You can submit your servers to this list via Preferences. When enabling the submit feature, you will be required to confirm that you know the servers to be open and free for public use.
Public proxy servers exist all over the world, and their specific privacy policies and logging/tracking behavior are generally unknown. The user should keep this in mind when opting to use them. Some provide good anonymity by completely masking your IP address, but your IP address can still very easily be logged by the proxy server itself.
The public proxy list is downloaded from the server when the NetShade app launches. It can be filtered to show only faster and/or more anonymous proxies. See filtering public proxies for more information.
